DCLN is a third-party process server. We deliver important legal documents to individuals and corporations on behalf-of law firms, debt collection agencies, property management companies, landlords, and other industries.

While it is possible that this is the case, there are many reasons why you could be receiving a legal delivery from DCLN. These can include:

  • Small claims court proceedings
  • Large claims court proceedings
  • Divorce proceedings
  • Eviction proceedings
  • You are a registered agent for a business or LLC
  • You have been subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a legal proceeding
  • Other legal proceedings

Dane County Legal Notice is not a law firm, therefore, we do not offer any legal representation services. We do, however, specialize in assisting entities such as law firms in delivering required service of process documents.

No, Dane County Legal Notice is a third-party courier service charged with delivering important legal documents.

We deliver legal documents for a wide range of cases and entities, including for law firms, property managers, pro se landlords, and a host of other industries. If you received a notice from DCLN, it means that we have been hired to deliver necessary service of process documents, and/or other legal documents, as required by law, on behalf of another individual, business or corporation.

DCLN is only responsible for delivery of your documents. We are not directly involved with your case, so we would not have any information to provide you with. You should contact the responsible party, which will be listed in your documents.

As a reminder, we are not a law firm, and we are not able to provide any legal guidance or counsel, nor should anything here be construed as being legal guidance or counsel.

Who should I contact to make delivery arrangements?2022-04-24T17:24:14-05:00

You should contact your assigned DCLN staff member directly by using the contact information on the notice. They will be able to arrange a convenient time for you to take delivery of your documents.

We are typically able to deliver Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 8AM to 9PM. Alternatively, you can feel free to schedule for a pickup at the DCLN main office.

Can I arrange for delivery at my work or friend’s house?2022-04-24T17:17:54-05:00

Unfortunately, we are not able to arrange for delivery to anywhere else other than the address listed on your file, or the DCLN main office. We would be happy to arrange for a convenient time to attempt delivery at the address where the notice was posted.

I received a notice from DCLN at my old address…2022-04-24T17:17:01-05:00

If you received word of a notice from Dane County Legal Notice being posted to an old residence, you should kindly do the following:

  • If you have access to the contact information for the DCLN staff member that was left on the notice, call or text them and let them know that you no longer reside in or otherwise occupy the space at that address
  • If you do not have the contact information for the DCLN staff member, please contact our main dispatch line
  • Provide us your current address where we may deliver the documents
  • We will report the updated information to the third-party and they will decide if DCLN will be attempting re-delivery to the new address

We are not able to deliver or otherwise leave the documents at your old address. They must be delivered to your person at your currently occupied address.

Can I pick up my documents from DCLN?2022-04-24T17:25:37-05:00

Yes!

If you’d prefer to stop by our office and pick up your legal documents, instead of having them delivered to your address, please kindly do the following:

  • Contact your dedicated DCLN staff member using the contact information on the notice
  • Your dedicated DCLN staff member will arrange for a convenient time to pick up your documents at the DCLN office

Please be sure to schedule ahead so we can be sure that we have a DCLN staff member present to help you out with the pick up!

Our apologies on that!

When we are charged with your delivery by the third-party, we are provided a name and an address. While we understand that this can be frustrating, we are attempting the delivery using the information we had for you at the time your file was sent to us.

If you are currently being represented by an attorney, and your files should have been received by your attorney or their law firms, please kindly do the following:

  • Contact the DCLN staff member using the contact information listed on the notice
  • If you do not know the contact information for the DCLN staff member, please contact our main dispatch line
  • Provide us your attorney’s contact details, such as their name, address, law firm, or any other details requested by the DCLN staff member
  • We will relay this information to the third-party and your attorney should await delivery of your documents

DCLN is committed to being flexible and making your delivery convenient.

We are typically able to deliver your documents seven days a week, Monday through Sunday, from 8 AM to 9PM, with the exception of a few holidays. Let us know what works for you!

If you received a notice from Dane County Legal Notice at your business, but you have a registered agent or attorney, kindly do the following:

  • Contact the DCLN staff member using the contact information listed on the notice
  • Provide the name of your registered agent (individual or service provider) and/or attorney
  • We will relay this information to the third-party that requested the delivery and/or service of process
  • The third-party will redirect the delivery to your specified designated representative

If you received a notice from Dane County Legal Notice and you are no longer the registered agent, kindly do the following:

  • Contact the DCLN staff member at the contact information listed on the notice and provide verbal notice that you are no longer the registered agent for the entity
  • If you are familiar with who the new registered agent is, please also provide that information at the time of contacting the DCLN staff member
  • We will then forward this information to the third-party that requested delivery or service of process
